Visit the International Road Federation at http://www.irfnews.org/ - Noncommercial Use Only - Published with Permission - An equipment operator follows a checklist for daily maintenance procedures on an asphalt distributor, demonstrating four areas of maintenance: the pre-start check (a walkaround inspection for fluid leaks, damaged parts and correct fluid levels), the warm-up check (preheating the asphalt, circulating it through the spray bar, and checking the spray bar for leaks), the daily operating check (listening to distributor engine performance, checking the spray nozzle, cleaning the hand spray bar, and monitoring gauges) and the shutdown check (cleaning the circulation system and re- fueling).
