DVD Transfer 96 is a compilation of several early Super Bowl highlight films taped on January 26, 2008; just over a week prior to Super Bowl XLII.
CONTENTS
1. Super Bowl II (Green Bay Packers 33; Oakland Raiders 14. This is the only one of the first 18 Super Bowl highlight films to have been narrated by someone other than John Facenda, in this case actor William Woodson)
2. Super Bowl III (New York Jets 16; Baltimore Colts 7. First AFL victory following Joe Namath's guarantee of a victory)
3. Super Bowl IV (Kansas City Chiefs 23; Minnesota Vikings 7. Last Super Bowl before the AFL-NFL merger was completed. Hank Stram wired for sound)
4. Super Bowl V (Baltimore Colts 16; Dallas Cowboys 13. First post-merger Super Bowl and first Super Bowl played on artificial turf)
5. Super Bowl VI (Dallas Cowboys 24; Miami Dolphins 3. First - and until Super Bowl LIII; only - time a team was kept out of the end zone in a Super Bowl)
6. Super Bowl VII (Miami Dolphins 14; Washington Redskins 7. Dolphins complete NFL's only perfect season. Only one of the first 6 Super Bowls following the merger to be played on natural grass)
7. Super Bowl VIII (Miami Dolphins 24; Minnesota Vikings 7. First Super Bowl played at a truly neutral site; as Houston's Rice Stadium had not been used as a professional venue since the Houston Oilers left for the Astrodome at the end of the 1967 season)
8. Super Bowl XII (Dallas Cowboys 27; Denver Broncos 10. First Super Bowl played indoors at the Louisiana Superdome {the previous Super Bowl held in New Orleans, Super Bowl IX, was supposed to serve as the Superdome's grand opening; but wasn't completed yet - in fact it was supposed to open as early as 1972 per original plans but didn't break ground until August 1971 due to political wrangling} and first Super Bowl scheduled to go into prime-time)
