"Deadly Fury" is an action film directed by Huaxun Zhang , written by Zhang Huaxun and Xie Hong, and starring Li Junfeng and Li Deyu. It was publicly released in China in 1983. 10

The film tells the story of Dongfang Xu and his family, who have drifted to Tianjin and perform on the street in front of a dilapidated temple. He Dahai, the head of the Shenzhou Martial Arts Hall, leads his disciples, including Tie Zhu, to cause trouble. Dongfang Xu is forced to fight and feigns defeat. Shenquan Li, a traveling doctor observing the scene, recognizes Dongfang Xu's exceptional martial arts skills and sees that he intentionally revealed a weakness to lose to He Dahai. He Dahai is moved by Dongfang Xu's profound skills and his repeated forbearance. The local tyrant Zhao Yanwang demands a bodyguard from the Shenzhou Martial Arts Hall through the Police Department. He Dahai sternly declares to his disciples the hall's rule of not serving as guards for the wealthy, but recommends Dongfang Xu for the job instead. To avoid this duty, Dongfang Xu self-mutilates by breaking his own arm. Later, Dongfang Xu becomes the head of the Shenzhou Martial Arts Hall. Originally inclined to avoid conflict, he endures the pain of losing his daughter and engages in a life-and-death struggle with the Russian strongman Dadelov to uphold national dignity, ultimately defeating him using Bagua Zhang. 1

The film received the Second Prize for Outstanding Films of 1983 by the Ministry of Culture in 1984. 7
