About

Recently did the remastered version of the Opening intro of the first Castilian-Spanish dub of "Attack no. 1" (known in the first Spain dub as "La Panda de Julia"), since it came to my mind to remake the OP but in 720p, since there's no HQ footage of the dub, but only on VHS in LQ.

For those who don't know about the first dub of "Attack No. 1", it's the Castilian-Spanish dub of the series under the name "La Panda de Julia". The dub is first done by Abaira and was aired on Telecinco (formerly Tele 5 Spain) from May 29, 1990 to November 13, 1993. Telecinco later re-aired the series, but on a kids block on January 1, 1991.

The OP is not based on the Japanese OP, because, Abaira (a dubbing company in Spain), made an alternate OP intro by using some parts of the Japanese OP clip and a few episodes of the series. Instead of dubbing the OP theme, they used the instrumental version of the Italian "My Little Pony G1" TV theme sung by Cristina D'Avena, but had tribute lyrics to the show and the main character. This OP theme is in a instrumental form (without Italian backvocals), but has Spanish vocals due to the original composer and arrangers, sending Abaira their instrumental to dub the song. Yes, France and Spain had that exact same song but the lyrics and vocals are different from the Italian original. A full version of the song, along with the re-arranged instrumental (with Spanish vocals) is available on a album called "CAMPEONES y Tus Amigos" which has Spanish-dubbed Italian songs from Mediaset shows used as their own OP theme but extended, along with re-arranged instrumentals that has Spanish vocals. There are rumors that the German dub of the sequel series "Attacker You!" used this OP theme but has German lyrics and vocals, but it's confirmed on the Spanish Wikipedia, but the footage is not on the Internet yet.

Composers/Arrangers: Alessandra Valeri Manera, Carmelo "Ninni" Carucci

Lyrics: María Monsonís

Vocals: Sol Pilas
