"The P-47 Thunderbolt was a fighter bomber. It had one engine, one man, one bomb on each wing and carried extra fuel tanks. The Allied Air Forces had one objective which was to destroy the Nazi supply lines by bombing the railroad conduits and bridges behind the enemy lines.
