About

Zumba Steps is an instructional video introducing the footwork, arm movements, and combinations used in Zumba fitness workouts. The program is hosted by Giselle and Beto, identified as the creator of Zumba, with additional instruction from Natalie, described as being from Brazil. The hosts explain that Zumba is based on Latin rhythms and interval training, alternating fast and slow songs, and that no prior dance experience or fitness level is required. Each step is broken down into lower body and upper body components taught separately before being combined, with beginner and advanced variations demonstrated throughout.

The first section covers foundational steps: merengue with five arm variations including invisible partner hold, side blade arms, bicep, tricep, chest press, and military press; salsa with side lean, front-back, and step-back variations; ghetto cumbia with basic and machete arm variations; carnival cumbia with turn and basket arm variations; belly dancing including the basic hip tap, shaki wrist-circle step, hip shimmy, pyramid step, Egyptian step, Cleopatra step, and veil step with figure-eight hip movement and wave arms; Zumba flamenco with two footwork and arm variations; samba jump; samba lunge; and optional steps including the maplist abdominal crunch step, currulao hip circle, mambo-cha-cha diagonal combination, punta heel-toe step, afro rag shuffle, and la pela weight-transfer step. The third section introduces advanced combinations used in the intermediate and advanced Zumba videos, including the hips touch back combination, Beto side shuffle with skating arms, Zumba party square step, square step diagonal kick and salsa step back combination, front kick salsa step, and tango combination with directional footwork pattern.
