About
Yoga Practice for Relaxation is a Living Arts and Yoga Journal production containing two separate restorative yoga sessions. Patricia Walden teaches the first session and introduces it as an Iyengar-derived restorative approach in which the body is supported by props rather than actively worked, with benefits specifically noted for PMS, menses, and post-childbirth recovery. Session One focuses on opening the front body through four supported poses: supported child's pose with a bolster and blanket to release the lower back, supported back bend to open the chest and shoulders, supported crossed legs pose with rolled blankets under each thigh, and supported bridge pose with two bolsters. Walden guides an extended pranayama breathing sequence following the floor poses.
Rodney Yee teaches Session Two, which begins with a gentle flowing sequence involving standing forward bends, lunges, and downward dog before moving to chair-supported forward bends. The second session includes supported seated forward bends with a chair and closes with supported plow pose, reclining cobbler pose, and relaxation pose with detailed body-scan narration. The program closes with Namaste from both instructors. Mooji Media copyright watermarks appear in the final minutes from the YouTube upload source.
