About
Fiction Records released this compilation of ten Tim Pope-directed music videos in 1991, spanning the period of The Cure's Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me and Disintegration albums. The collection picks up where the earlier Staring at the Sea compilation left off, gathering some of the band's defining songs: Why Can't I Be You, Catch, Just Like Heaven, Lullaby, Fascination Street, Lovesong, Pictures of You, and Never Enough, closing with the Closer Mix of Close to Me from the 1990 remix album Mixed Up.
Between the videos, behind-the-scenes footage and interview segments follow the band through the 1989 Prayer Tour, including candid material shot at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles where The Cure played to a sold-out crowd of around 50,000. Crew and band members discuss individual videos in short interludes, offering a loose, unguarded look at the band at the height of their commercial peak.
