About
Marshall Sylver's Self Hypnosis Training Video is an instructional program produced by Sylver Enterprises, presented by hypnotherapist and motivational speaker Marshall Sylver. The program opens by clearing common misconceptions about hypnosis and defining it as a state of mental, physical, and psychological relaxation in which suggestions are most readily accepted. Viewers are guided through a pendulum exercise and an arm levitation induction with a studio subject named Cher, learning to place themselves into trance using the phrase "relaxing now" and to emerge using a three-count method.
The second half presents Sylver's eight rules of the mind and twelve rules for structuring effective hypnotic suggestions, covering principles such as positive versus negative phrasing, present-tense language, simplicity, emotional specificity, attainable goals, and the use of post-hypnotic triggers. The program closes with step-by-step instructions for recording a personal self-hypnosis audio cassette using a C-45 tape, including fractional induction scripting, program length, and a five-count emergence sequence. Viewers are directed to contact Sylver Enterprises for additional scripting resources.
