About

Pilates Dynamic Firming and Flexing is a stretching and flexibility program hosted by Lakey Evans, structured as a companion to a mat Pilates practice rather than a standalone Pilates workout. The program is divided into three segments: a full-body warm-up, an upper-body flexibility section, and a lower-body flexibility section. Evans explains that good flexibility means muscles that are not tight and joints that are not stiff, distinguishing this from extreme range-of-motion goals like splits or contortion. The program includes an exercise resistance band used in several lower-body segments.

The warm-up covers neck rolls, shoulder rolls, side tilts, finger interlacing overhead, large arm circles, forward bend with a hang, and a basic standing squat series. The upper-body segment works through shoulder stretches, chest-opening poses, wrist and forearm stretches, thoracic spine rotation, and a series of lateral bends with the arms extended overhead. The lower-body segment covers standing hip flexor stretches, seated hamstring work, inner thigh stretches in straddle position, supine spinal twists, a figure-four glute stretch, calf and Achilles stretches using the resistance band, prone quadriceps stretches, and a closing child's pose sequence. A brief Pilates spine curl and pelvic tilt sequence bridges the upper and lower segments. Throughout, Evans coaches even breathing, slow movement into and out of each position, and avoidance of bouncing or forced range. The tape runs approximately 63 minutes.
