About
Paula Abdul's Cardio Dance is a dance-based aerobic workout video hosted by Paula Abdul and filmed with a group of backup dancers. The program is designed for all fitness levels and combines choreographed dance routines with lower-body toning exercises. Abdul coaches form and alignment throughout and instructs participants to pause and relearn sections if they fall behind rather than sacrificing form for continuity. Supportive shoes and a hard, non-carpeted surface are recommended.
The workout is structured in three sections. Section one teaches the first choreography block, a combination built around a step-touch warm-up, a right-behind-left Charleston step, a knee lift, a box step with arm variations, and a strut sequence with hip work. Section two adds a second choreography block covering a pop-twist sequence, a lunge-twist, and a back-and-front placement pattern. Section three introduces a third block that combines all prior elements into a full routine run at performance speed. A lower-body toning section follows the cardio peak, targeting the glutes and thighs with standing leg work and floor exercises, and the program closes with a full cool-down including lower back stretches, hip flexor stretches, calf and Achilles stretches, and a seated spinal twist. The tape runs approximately 41 minutes.
