About

Pagan Invasion Volume 13: Doorways to Satan is the thirteenth and final installment of the Jeremiah Films series hosted by Chuck Smith and Caryl Matrisciana. The program examines the rise of Satanism in mainstream Western culture, arguing that decades of horror films, satanic heavy metal music, occult video games, and media desensitization have opened a doorway to satanic influence at every level of society. The program opens with a survey of cultural indicators including Exorcist III, over 50 major black metal groups promoting Satanism, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as an example of occult imagery in children's entertainment, and Anton LaVey's First Church of Satan in San Francisco.

The program profiles specific criminal cases connected to Satanism: Joseph Beeson and Edward Bennett, two teenagers raised in Mormon homes who killed 18-year-old Michelle Moore; Sean Sellers, the youngest death row inmate in Oklahoma, who murdered his mother and stepfather; Scott Waterhouse, who tortured and killed a 12-year-old girl in what he described as a satanic slaughter; Pete Rowland's group who beat their friend to death with baseball bats while chanting a sacrifice for Satan; and Richard Ramirez, the Night Stalker, convicted of 13 murders. The Matamoros drug cult killings of spring 1989 are covered, in which 13 mutilated bodies were found near the American-Mexican border. Aleister Crowley is profiled as a major inspiration for the modern Satanic revival, with his book Magic cited as detailing a procedure for child sacrifice. Anton LaVey and the Church of Satan, Colonel Michael Aquino's Temple of Set, and the OTO (Ordo Templi Orientis) are covered. Extended interview segments feature a former Satanist who describes initiation and the promise of power and sexual access, a social worker on how alienated teenagers are recruited, a pastor counseling a young woman who exited the occult, and a law enforcement expert on whether courts can prosecute Satanism as a philosophy rather than as criminal behavior. The tape runs approximately 46 minutes.
