About

P.M. Yoga for Beginners is a 1998 yoga instructional video led by Patricia Walden, a classically trained Iyengar yoga teacher, produced by Living Arts and released under the Gaiam label. The program is designed as an evening practice to transition from the activity of the day to a quiet and restful state. It is filmed at sunset in Death Valley National Park. The program runs 20 minutes and is structured in three sections: Centering Poses, which quiet the mind and body and run approximately four minutes; the P.M. Workout, a sequence of stretches designed to soothe the body and release muscle tension that runs approximately 13 minutes; and Guided Relaxation, a closing sequence intended to revitalize the mind that runs approximately three minutes. Props recommended include a mat, a yoga brick, and a blanket. The tape was also sold as part of the A.M./P.M. Yoga for Beginners two-tape set, with the companion A.M. tape hosted by Rodney Yee and filmed at sunrise on Maui.
