About

Lots and Lots of Trains Volume 2 is a children's train video presenting footage of steam, diesel, freight, and passenger trains, toy trains, trolley trains, and trains from around the world set to music. The opening narration invites young viewers to hear the whistle blow, feel the heat, and smell the smoke as "titans of the tracks" pass by. No spoken narration accompanies the footage itself; the program is music-driven throughout its approximately 30-minute runtime.

The soundtrack centers on two recurring train songs performed over the footage. The first is a blues-inflected song with the refrain "Big train's coming, coming down that red meadow," and the second is "New River Train," built on the traditional refrain "Riding on that new river train / it's the same old train that brought me here / and gonna take me home again."
