About
Let's Tap is a tap dance instructional video hosted by Donald O'Connor, filmed with a young student named Jessie and featuring guest appearances by Fayard Nicholas of the Nicholas Brothers. The program opens with a medical disclaimer and O'Connor's welcome, followed by O'Connor demonstrating with Jessie the physical benefits of tap dancing for all ages. O'Connor and Jessie meet Fayard Nicholas, who joins them for a brief demonstration before the structured lessons begin.
Three lessons are taught by a drill instructor named Robbie, with O'Connor providing commentary and motivation. Lesson 1 covers the shuffle, the toe-heel, and a heel dig, followed by a fitness routine combining all three. Lesson 2 covers the flap, the ball change, and the pullback, followed by a combination and fitness routine. Lesson 3 covers the double cramp roll, the toe in the back, and the flap heel, followed by a fitness routine. A final advanced section teaches the maxi four and the shuffle off the buffalo. The tape closes with O'Connor's sign-off.
