About

Learn Gun Safety with Eddie Eagle is a short animated program produced by the National Rifle Association for children, featuring the character Eddie Eagle as part of the Eagle Eye Club alongside Theodore Eagle (water safety) and Amelia Eagle (fire safety). The program opens with a live-action host introducing the Eagle Eye Club and Eddie's background before transitioning to an animated segment. In the first scenario, Eddie observes children discovering a gun behind a broom in a grandmother's attic and intervenes to teach the four-step safety rule: Stop, Don't Touch, Leave the Area, Tell an Adult.

A second scenario follows children who discover a gun in a closet while searching for a birthday present. In both cases the children successfully locate an adult, and the program reinforces the four-step rule through repetition and a sung version of the steps. The program closes with the host prompting direct viewer engagement, asking what the child watching would do if they found a gun. Runtime is approximately seven minutes.
