About
Las Vegas Video is a short compilation program documenting casino implosions, grand openings, and Strip landmarks primarily from the mid-to-late 1990s. Implosion footage covers the Aladdin Hotel Casino, where Elvis and Priscilla were married in 1967 before its 1996 demolition; the Sands Hotel Casino after 44 years of operation; the Landmark Hotel, demolished in November 1995; the Dunes, which drew a crowd of over 500,000 at its implosion; and the Hacienda on New Year's Eve 1997. The Venetian is shown opening on the former Sands site.
Current (circa 2000) Las Vegas properties featured include the Venetian, Paris Hotel Casino, Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand, the new Aladdin, the Stratosphere Tower, the Imperial Palace auto museum, Caesar's Palace Forum Shops, Treasure Island's pirate show, the Mirage, the Monte Carlo, and the Las Vegas Hilton's Star Trek attraction. Downtown coverage includes a limousine drive down pre-Fremont Street Experience Fremont Street and the December 1995 debut of the Fremont Street Experience canopy. Day trips to Hoover Dam, the Grand Canyon, Lee Canyon Ski Resort, Red Rock Canyon, and Valley of Fire State Park are also covered.
