About
Angles, Lines and Curves is a 45-minute dance fitness and flexibility video presented by Kari Anderson, drawing on her background in dance and sports training developed over 17 years of teaching at her clubs. The program opens with five principles Anderson asks participants to hold throughout: viewing the body from space with a proprioceptive awareness of position; working toward the desired angle, line, or curve of each movement with technical discipline; focusing on the strength, flexibility, or balance required; using the exhalation to maximize range of motion; and relaxing into stretches to feel muscular release. Participants are barefoot throughout to maintain ground contact. The tape does not include traditional aerobics.
The session moves through a standing sequence opening with plié and elbow-pull patterns, arm sweeps, and lateral spine work, then develops into more complex shapes including turned-out positions, spinal curves, and controlled hip isolations. Floor work covers seated inner-thigh stretches, rocking hip-flexor sequences, spinal extensions, and controlled abdominal engagement. The closing sequence returns to standing for relevé work, spinal rounding, and a final balance and breath cue before Anderson's sign-off.
