About
Jane Fonda's Light Aerobics and Stress Reduction Program is a three-part workout structured as 20 minutes of light aerobics, a full-body relaxing stretch, and a 10-minute stress reduction segment. The aerobics portion uses step-apart patterns, heel lifts, knee raises, piston movements, cha-cha steps, and slow lunges, with participants offered both higher and lower intensity versions throughout. Fonda cues participants to maintain conversational breathing as the intensity check. The stretch section is performed primarily on the floor and includes spinal twists, supine hamstring stretches, and hip openers with eyes closed and guided breath cuing.
The stress reduction segment instructs participants to tighten and release muscle groups from the feet upward while breathing slowly, concluding with a guided visualization. A promotional segment at the close introduces other titles in the Jane Fonda video library, including Sports Aid, co-produced with Dr. James Garrick of the Sports and Dance Medicine Center at St. Francis Hospital in San Francisco, and the Fitness Walkout audio program.
