About

A broadcast of EWTN Live hosted by Father Mitch Pacwa, recorded on the feast of Saint Louis, King of France, with guests Father Frank Pavone, founding director of Priests for Life, and Janet Morana, associate director. The program was recorded during a week of Priests for Life taping at EWTN, including a six-part election series beginning the following month.

The discussion centers on the 2003 pre-election period and the moral obligations of Catholic voters. Topics covered include Father Pavone's position that supporting abortion disqualifies a candidate regardless of other policy positions, the Priests for Life Defending Life television series, pastoral guidance to clergy on discussing voting from the pulpit, the Laci and Connor Law then before Congress, the distinction between personal opposition and public advocacy, and guidance on politicians who support same-sex marriage. The role of bishops' statements in forming Catholic political conscience is also addressed.

The Priests for Life website and a booklet containing the talks from their Rome visit are referenced as resources for viewers.
