About

This tape is an unedited off-air recording of commercial breaks from a CBS affiliate in Las Vegas, Nevada, captured during the holiday season of December 1998. The Las Vegas market is confirmed by multiple local advertisers and a local news tease referencing a holiday lights tradition on Hondo Court. The year is established by programming anchors including McDonald's A Bug's Life Happy Meal toys, tied to the film's November 1998 release; America Online version 4.0, launched in fall 1998; the NBA lockout reference during the 1998–99 season; and the Everybody Loves Raymond and Becker Monday night pairing on CBS, which debuted in fall 1998.

CBS programming promoted across the tape includes a special edition of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer with restored footage not seen in over 30 years; A Charlie Brown Christmas followed by A Garfield Christmas airing together on CBS Wednesday; The Christmas Wish on CBS Sunday; Everybody Loves Raymond with an all-new episode featuring Ray's father taking the wheel; and all-new Becker after Raymond. The King of Queens is noted as returning the following week. Inside Edition promoted viewer tape purchases by phone and website.
