About

Encourages the planting of native grasses to preserve soil fertility and provides grazing best practices. Emphasizes that a good range grazing program should be based on four principles: (1) limitation of livestock on any pasture while maintaining a vigorous stand of desirable grasses; (2) grazing during seasons favorable to the grasses that need to be increased; (3) even distribution of animals; and (4) choice of the kind and type of livestock which can be adapted on the range and the region. (Educational Film & Video Locator, 3rd edition, 1986).

Part 6 of the series, "Preventing Wind Erosion on the Great Plains."
