About
‘Ohrid Express’ (1965) 12m, dir. Jean Dasque. We join the idyllic world of conductor Petra Mihalowski, whose slow, narrow-gauge Macedonian train, its locomotive built in 1895, runs 60 kilometers from Presak to Orhid. Scenes include rural activity, laundry washed by the lake with soapy water heated in large copper kettles, and fishing. Cinematography by Robert Legrand. This train line was closed in 1996: http://www.penmorfa.com/JZ/ohrid.html
