About

This video provides a glimpse into the unique world of drawing and colouring with pencils and pastels. Two well-known artists demonstrate a wide variety of techniques, some of them uprising, in a way that anyone can grasp. There are plenty of ideas here to give free rein to your own creativity; after a few attempts you can easily put them into practice. John Hughes, a freelance artist, specialises in watercolour techniques, and for many years has used colour pencils. In a manner that's both professional and entertaining, he demonstrates many ways of using Polychromos artists' colour pencils and Albrecht Durer watercolour pencils.

Dan Fern is Professor of illustration at the Royal Collage of Art in London. He provides an insight into some impressive techniques using Polychromos pastels and PITT Monochrome artists' pencils and chalks, and gets some amazing results.
