About
Do you remember DOS? Windows was still in the 3.0 version in the early 1990s and was basically a front end to this version of DOS. PC users were trying to decide whether to stick with the new version of DOS or migrate to Windows. This program looks at the new version of DOS, compares it to its predecessor 6.0, and looks at some new add-ons such as Stacker 3.1 from Stac Electronics and Norton Utilities 7.0 from Symantec. Also includes a look at IBM's new PenDOS, a visit to Ziff Davis Labs, and a visit to the DOS development labs at Microsoft in Redmond. Guests include Van Wolverton, author of "Running MS-DOS" and Chris Barr, Senior Editor for PC Magazine. Originally broadcast in 1993. Copyright 1993 Stewart Cheifet Productions.
