About
Produced in the 1960s by Pan Am Airlines, this wonderful travelogue of Brazil shows the country at the dawn of the jet age. The journey begins in Rio De Janeiro, "the most beautiful city in South America." Many sights are seen in the downtown including the Pan American World Airways offices, the famous beaches, and the famous cable car to the top of Sugar Loaf mountain. The agricultural and fishing industries of the nation are also seen, including the coffee industry. Modern Sao Paolo is shown at the 11 minute mark, full of hustle and bustle. The old capitol of Recife is also shown, as well as the Amazon river and the jungle that surrounds it. The film ends with, what else, Carnival celebrations.
