About

BEETS FROM SEED TO SUGAR BOWL Produced: 1923

Description Sugar beets are grown and beet sugar is processed near Blissfield, Michigan. Beets are planted, cultivated, fertilized, and harvested. Sliced beets are placed in a diffusion tank, and the juice is filtered and then crystallized by boiling. The crystals are dried in a granulator and then packed.
