About

Pre-World War II footage of a Japanese American family and friends spending time together in and around San Francisco, celebrating birthdays and holidays and enjoying summer time at a river beach. Featuring scenes in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco's Japantown; the East Bay; a visit to a Japanese-owned vegetable farm, presumably in Salinas; and scenes of intermingling with white neighbors. One scene shows Dr. Carl T. Hirota standing on the sidewalk in San Francisco's Western Addition wearing his 442nd Infantry Regiment Army jacket.
