About
A Los Angeles area family of Japanese heritage with young children celebrates family time, food, community, and cultural events with extended family and friends. Picnics and playtime as well as pounding rice cake and other food preparation activity are joyful activities shared. Contrasting sequences show sober, respectful times at memorial events and gravesites honoring elders both living and lost.
