About
A screen-capture movie demonstrating the use of Hugin to correct perspective-induced distortion in a photograph. This uses the original version of File:Merrill Wisconsin City Hall Historic.jpg, but this is not a recording of the actual correction applied to that image and uploaded to Commons. This is a recording of a quick session to demonstrate the techniques used, though without the usual care given to ensure the best possible outcome. Hugin writes the resulting image into a TIFF file which is displayed here in the GIMP image manipulation program. GIMP could then be used for further editing and to save the results as a JPEG file. This was recorded on a Linux system running Kubuntu 12.04.2. Hugin and GIMP are both also available for other platforms.
