About
This Sattriya dance performance is set to a Borgeet composed by the Vaishnavite saint-poet Sri Sri Madhavdeva (1489–1596). Beginning with a brief Jhumura segment, the dance transitions into expressive abhinaya depicting the graceful arrival of Lord Krishna in Gokul. Through stylized movements, mudras, and facial expressions, the performance portrays Krishna’s divine beauty and playful presence, while conveying the philosophical essence of Bhakti—surrender, devotion, and the soul’s harmony with the Divine. This performance was presented by Nandita Goswami, Sakshi Priyambada, Barasha Rani Kalita, Mayuri Sarma, Tanu Kuwor, and Lavita Das, and choreographed by Antara Goswami.
