Operation Pakari in Southland earlier this year saw more than 20 people arrested for violent offences, including attempted murder, after incidents across the region last year including drive-by shootings.

Those arrested all have links to the Mongrel Mob, and many of them are due back in court in Invercargill next month.

Here’s Southland Area Commander, Inspector Mike Bowman, with a rundown on what the operation means for the community.
