DESCRIPTION: Ein Mann steht zur falschen Zeit am falschen Ort und hat auf einmal zwei Probleme: Was macht man mit einer Abfindung von 8 1/2 Millionen und vor allem: Wie lässt sich sein Leben wieder ins Lot bringen? Beim Anblick eines Risses in einer fremden Badezimmerwand überkommt ihn plötzlich ein immenses Glücksgefühl: Da war einmal ein identischer Riss und um ihn herum hatte es einen Alltag gegeben, eine Wohnung, einen Ausblick, Gerüche, Klänge. Vor allem aber das Gefühl, lebendig zu sein. Fortan verwendet der namenlose Ich-Erzähler alles darauf, sich diesen Alltag zurückzuholen.
