Chicken Charlie: Chicken No More Murder At Midnight - Trigger Man William Quinn, Frank Behrens Written by Max Ehrlich "Nobody knows how I feel. Except maybe a guy in the death house." You've just learned that you have six months to live. What do you do? Would you let it change your life? Should you let it change your life? Does an abbreviated life become more valuable or less valuable? These are the questions faced by 'Chicken Charlie' Nix, the central character of Trigger Man. Charlie Nix had always wanted to be a tough guy, had always wanted to be a trigger man for the mob. Charlie's problem is that every time he's challenged, he gets cold feet. He's tough enough to point a gun, but he doesn't have the guts to pull the trigger. Because of this, he is the butt of jokes by the other members of the gang, and has earned the moniker 'Chicken Charlie'. All this may be about to change, however. Chicken Charlie has just six months to live. Mob boss Angelo 'Angie' Donelli arranged for Charlie Nix's medical check-up, upon his release from a year-long prison sentence. Angie even paid for Charlie to see his own private doctor. Radio drama, old-time radio and historic broadcasts from the Internet Archive (its Old Time Radio collection with the Old Time Radio Researchers' sets, WWII Era Audio Recordings, the Pacifica Radio Archives, the Radio Haiti Archive, German radio plays and listeners' uploads), Wikimedia Commons (with the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision's broadcasts) and the Library of Congress. Every episode plays from its archive, which this site does not copy; rights are as each archive states them. Nothing here is called public domain on this site's say-so. In the United States, sound recordings first fixed before 15 February 1972 have federal protection under the Music Modernization Act of 2018, for most until 2067 at the latest, so most American radio of the 1930s to the 1950s is not in the public domain there. Each set shows the licence, mark or statement its archive gives, and says whose it is. Horror, crime, war and westerns are for teenage and adult profiles, racist caricature for adults only, and children’s profiles hear what was made for children. More about these archives.
