DESCRIPTION: Lillian lebt in einem kleinen verschlafenen Nest in Vermont. Aber die Ruhe ist hin, als sie sich von einem undurchsichtigen Typen namens Blackway verfolgt fühlt. Eines Morgens liegt ihre Katze tot vor der Tür. Ermordet von Blackway, davon ist sie überzeugt.

Der Sheriff kann nichts für sie tun, daher sucht sie Hilfe bei einem Club kauziger alter Männer. Beeindruckt von ihrem Mut, stellen diese ihr den betagten Lester und den hünenhaften, etwas beschränkten Nate als Schutz zur Seite. Lillian traut den beiden nichts zu, aber sie lassen sich nicht abwimmeln, und so suchen sie Blackway schließlich gemeinsam. Als kurioses Trio verfolgen sie den obskuren Bösewicht durch die Wälder von Vermont.
