More about it

Mickey Rooney as Luke Skywalker Humphrey Bogart as Han Solo Katharine Hepburn as Princess Leia Jack Benny as Uncle Owen Mae West as Aunt Beru Laurel and Hardy as the droids And on and on... Over 30 classic actors' voices were portrayed, from Bela Lugosi to the Three Stooges. The Adventures of Luke Skywalker was performed by the Lux Radio Theater group. Sound effects were performed live by a crew of foley artists who used everything from generator flashlights, 8mm film cameras and one-dollar coins to a metal filing cabinet to masterfully create the ambient noises needed to reinforce the settings. The original Star Wars sound effects by Ben Burtt and the musical score by John Williams were 'remastered' in 1940's quality on computer. Just enough was added to give flavor, like a little B-17 Bomber drone to the Millennium Falcon's engines and a 'big band' version of the Cantina music. The show originally 'aired' Thanksgiving weekend of the year 2000 at LosCon 27, the annual science fiction convention hosted by the Los Angeles Science/Fantasy Society. The entire 90-minute performance was released as a two-disc CD set

More Adventure

Radio drama, old-time radio and historic broadcasts from the Internet Archive (its Old Time Radio collection with the Old Time Radio Researchers' sets, WWII Era Audio Recordings, the Pacifica Radio Archives, the Radio Haiti Archive, German radio plays and listeners' uploads), Wikimedia Commons (with the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision's broadcasts) and the Library of Congress. Every episode plays from its archive, which this site does not copy; rights are as each archive states them. Nothing here is called public domain on this site's say-so. In the United States, sound recordings first fixed before 15 February 1972 have federal protection under the Music Modernization Act of 2018, for most until 2067 at the latest, so most American radio of the 1930s to the 1950s is not in the public domain there. Each set shows the licence, mark or statement its archive gives, and says whose it is. Horror, crime, war and westerns are for teenage and adult profiles, racist caricature for adults only, and children’s profiles hear what was made for children. More about these archives.
