Jpailu jfUnncbcc journal. Angnita, Friday Morn'g, Mar, 28, 1879. -rr:~ Double Hint Twisted Lying. The editor of the Standard makes a la bored attempt in the last issue of that pa per to defenu the outrageous attack id it correspondent upon l>r. t^itinhy in con nection with the late city election. The Dr. needs no defence against hi- a—ailanfs. and we only notice this endorsement of lii eorrespotident by the editor of the stand ard, in order to call attention to a question of veracity which arises between the en dorser and endorsee in their several arti cles. In the article of the correspondent, as it trpppars in the Standard, is the follow ing statement. Rev. W. ljuinhv. 1>. 1>.. the hypocriti cal moralist of Ward Six. openly declared on Monday last that the issues ill the election were “morals ami finance;" and that the re publican party must preserve the morals of the city 1" He faith fully jirum ised some of hia constituents, in return for thn, rote*, that he would not votk for CHARLES WHITE nor Frank Farrington for city marshal, hut that his voice and ballot would be i/irtn for JOSHUA XYE. Here the Standard correspondent slates that Dr. Ijuinby, in order to get votes for himself, promised not to vote for Charles White for city marshal, and that he would support Joshua Nye for that offiee. Now look at the remarkable as sertion made by editor Pillslmrv in hi- re cent article: Mr. Quinhv might have decided this ques tion in favor of temperance—lie decided it otherwise. He knew the character of White. He knew that White's only claim to hi- sup port was based upon his efforts to carry Ward six bv illegitimate appliances. Mark how directly the last statement contradicts the first. The eorresjmndcnt declare* that Dr. tjuinby pledged himself at election not to vote for White and to vote for Joshua Xye hut editor Pillslmry asserts that the Dr. was pledged to vote for White. The correspondent makes an assertion to which the editor gives the lie in fact, while in words he endorses it avrnp w ill cure it. i i.kkks from headache, conatip.it cd bowels, itiw ard piles, ostivi nc'S. fev. torpid li'er, yellowness of tin* skin and eyes, indigestion, dyspepsia, anil all dcrungeiuems of the internal viscera, are cured by “Swavne’a Tar and Sarsaparilla Dills.” Ln 1 ik«* many other purgatives, they do not irri tate the stomach and bowels by frcipiciit u-» They keep the system in healthy condition by arousing tin* torpid liver to healthy action and expelling by the bowels and kidney- tin* mat ter that poisons the foundations of life, lb particular to obtain "Sw ay tie’s Dills.” Drive 'J7> cents a box at all leading druggists. >rup.
