The Southern Review (October, 1869)
Albert Taylor Bledsoe (Baltimore, MD)
A single issue of The Southern Review from October, 1869 (Volume 6, Number 12). Published in Baltimore, MD by Albert Taylor Bledsoe, LL.D. Bledsoe was a staunchly pro-slavery Confederate, and the originator of the "Lost Cause" mythology after the end of the Civil War. As such, he should be reviled, but it is perhaps of some use to see how similar his racist rants are to those of his modern-day political descendants. Contents include Injustice of American Tariffs The Theory of Reasoning Sir John Coleridges' Life of Keble Improvements Needed in Geometry Lucian The United States as a Military Nation Virginia: Her Geographical Position Battle of Ball's Bluff Notices of Books Scanned at 600dpi, 24-bit color, algorithmically deskewed and then manually cropped.
