UNION-EASTON TRUST CO., 5325 EASTON AV. HUGE OKLAHOMA GUSHER STILL I$ OUT OF CONTROL World’s Largest “Sweet” Shaft Wasting 2000 to 3000 Bar- reis an Hour. By the Associated -Preas. OKLAHOMA CITY, Ok., March 29.—Gusher No. 1 Mary Sudick, in the Oklahoma City oil field, today continued to run wild, inundating the countryside and spouting thou- sands of galions of oil high into the air. A companion well, which had been out of control since Tuesday, was shut in late yesterday. The No. 1 Mary Sudick. owned by the Indian Territory Illuminat- ing Oil and the Foster Petroleum companies, blew in Wednesday, a mammoth gasser, with an estimated daily flow of 200,000,000 cubic feet. There was scarcely enough oi! to’ the escaping gas. Gradually | the off flow increased; ‘until the well “drilled itself in” with what oil men estimated at from 27000 to 3000 barrels of of] an hour, one of the largest wells of its kind in the world. Workmen in oll drenched slick- ers went carefully about the task of installing a master-gate on the well, for the work was extremely hazardous. Tremenhdous pressure, estimated by engineers at 2000 pounds to the square inch, must be overcome without the ieast spark or heat from friction, to evade the danger of firing the well. While it was impoasibie to gauge the well, oil men pronounced it the largest producer o f “sweet” oil in the world. GERMAN CABINET FORMED BY DR.
