HE third largest meteorite in the world just arrived here from Greenland aboard the Danish schooner So- kongen. Nobody ere has yet seen the stone, but Capt. Peder- sen of the Sokongen says it weighs seven tons. Eskimos are said to have stat- ed that the »y-eteorite fell in 1918 and that they had been dragging it toward the coast on dog siedges since 1923. Much difficulty was encountered § in taking the meteorite on board the Sokongen. Capt. Pedersen said he had much trouble in steering his vessel tu Aberdeen, because the stone deflected the compass. ‘The Sokongen in 1924 rescued the Danish explorer, Peter Freunehen, who had been lost in Baffin Land for three years. Of the two larger meteorites in existence, one is in the United States and the other in Great triltain, ' } SUPREME COURT OF ILLINOIS ACCEPTS MRS, LELAND’S BRIEF Whose Hus- — ee en Statement of Ww oman, band Got Divorce, Nataing Pastor, Seeks to Clear Her Name. t’ the Associated Press SPRINGFIELD, Ui Oct. 14.— The State Supreme Court today gave Mrs. Charlott a eee eee tte Leland per- accident in which he was injured ia — FAMOUS STRONG MAN SANDOW DIES IN LONDON Sudden Demise Believed to Have Resulted F rom. | Auto Acident Some Years | | Ago. | -——~ a ee Sree eee Winasktts POAT Oy es em ' HAD PRACTICED AS HEALTH SPECIALIST As a Child He Was a Weak- ling—Performed Prodi- | gious Feats in Tour of | America.
