The Hamilton Club, of Chicago, Appears as the Largest Single Con- tributor, Washington, October 22.—The sum of $2,466.019.54 has been col- lected by Treasurer Fred W. Up- ham, of the republican national committee, while $2,741,503.34 has been disbursed between June 14 and October 18 of this year, according to the sworn statement required by law, which Upham has just filed with the clerk of the house of rep- ae resentatives here. Saturday will be the last day for ling under the terms of the law. Up to a late hour on Friday the democratic national committee had not been heard from. Statement by Committee. A statement made by the repub- lican national committee says: “The contributors to the repub- Iican fund for this period number 34,867, and the detailed list shows only 16 contributions in excess of $1,000, aggregating $38,750. The largest single contribution was from the Hamilton Club of Chicago, whose members subscribed the sum of $6,120.50, Other contributions, as set down in detail, range from 25 cents to $1,000 and cover the en- tire country.” A hasty perusal of the bulky 1,- 200-page volume in which the con- tributions are listed in the order of theils receipt shows that the “high gun” in the republican givers’ anks is S. G. Kennedy, oll man nd banker, of Tulsa, Okla., with 5,000. Four other Tulsa republic- ans, it appears, have gone over the $1,000 limit, with contributions of $1,250 each. They are Willlam Saks, Percy Magee, R. M. and H. H. dling. Other contributors topping the $1,000 mark include J. E. Backus, of Norfolk, Va.: Ledyard Ogdell, Jr., of Albany. N. T.: W. H. R Hillyard; of Pittsburg, all with $2,000. A joint contribution. of $2,000 is ac- knowledged from Philip J. and Al- bert G. Goodhary, of New York city. . ¢ Donors of $6,000. The report of the republican con- gressional committee, filed at the same, time as that of the national committee, shows, however, that there are at least four more don- ors of $5,000 to the republican cause. They are: Henry Hornblow- er, of Boston, of the Stock Brok- erage firm of Hornblower & Weeks; illiiam Hamlin Childs, of New ork, the former progressive who was so active in the fusion cam- paigns waged on behalf of the late Mayor Mitchel, of New York; George 68 C.
