The Home Dressmaker and Fashion Guide, Illustrating People's Home Journal Patterns (1922)
People's Home Journal Pattern Company (New York)
A remarkably difficult item to identify (and I'd take advice on any online bibliographical information with interest), The Home Dressmaker and Fashion Guide was apparently published as a compendium of patterns described and sold via The People's Home Journal magazine (New York), in 1922. The sheet (or plate?) on pp. 35–36 is overprinted, apparently when a page corner slipped in production. The missing portion of page 35 seems to appear in the corner of page 36, but I honestly can't work out how this could happen in a single page. In addition to this, some severe dinginess of early pages may make OCR problematic. Scanned at 600dpi, 24-bit color, algorithmically deskewed and then manually cropped. As always, I have not provided OCR text; that has been generated automatically by the upload server. My goal with these scans is to provide sufficiently clean pages for manual proofreading of OCRed pages by human folks.
