Gags v01n05 [1941-11] (Triangle) (BONES)
Gags v01n05 [1941-11]. Gags was a humor magazine from Triangle Publications which published cartoons, jokes, puns, one-liners, etc. A total of 84 issues appeared between March 1941 and October 1951. Some of the covers were slightly risqué . The running joke in the early issues was a hole which went entirely through the magazine, and became a feature of the cover design's story (as in this cover, where an old gent is shooting spitballs at the derrière of a burlesque dancer through a hole in a curtain). Gags was printed in Chicago, Ill. with editorial offices in the Philadelphia Inquirer office. In 1941, Triangle Publications also published the Daily Racing Forum, Racing Forum, Morning Telegraph, Screen Guide, Stardom, and Movie Guide. They later published TV Guide and Seventeen Magazine. Triangle Publications, Inc. folded in 1988.
