Episode The story behind ‘Tanvi the great’ | ft.Anupam Kher & Shubhangi Dutt
Welcome to Cyrus Says!
In this episode, Cyrus is joined by Anupam Kher and debut actor Shubhangi Dutt to talk about ‘Tanvi The Great', a film directed by Anupam Kher and inspired by his real-life niece, Tanvi, who is autistic.
They talk about how Shubhangi was discovered for the lead role, how she prepared for the part, and why this story means so much to Anupam Kher. The conversation also gets into the response the film has received from audiences, students, families, and even names like the President of India and Robert De Niro.
Anupam also shares how Boman Irani and Jackie Shroff joined the film purely for the love of the story and didn’t charge a penny for it.
It’s a warm, funny, and heartfelt conversation about filmmaking, hope, and telling stories that truly connect.
