Nora Monsecour is danser en choreograaf. Van jongs af aan volgde ze les aan de Koninklijke Balletschool in Antwerpen en de kunstschool MUDA. Na haar opleiding verhuisde ze naar Duitsland en bouwde ze aan een internationale carrière. Haar levensverhaal inspireerde de film ‘Girl’ en ze schreef het boek ‘De weg naar mezelf’, over haar transitie en haar zoektocht naar zelfaanvaarding. Voor De Nederlandse Reisopera danst ze in ‘Waiting for the Barbarians’, een voorstelling gebaseerd op de roman van J.M. Coetzee die zich focust op het essentiële thema van onze tijd: wij en zij.
