Episode EP 1 - कौन से राजा, जिन्ना के साथ सीक्रेट पैक्ट कर रहे थे, नए कागजों से क्या पता चला?
In this PUSTAKALAYA Weekly Book Show of Indian Express Hindi, author and journalist Josy Joseph discusses his book Birth Of A Nation with Saurabh Dwivedi.
The discussion takes viewers back to the crucial days leading up to India's Independence in 1947 and explores the political negotiations, power struggles, and historic decisions that shaped the future of the subcontinent.
The conversation examines the roles played by Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Lord Mountbatten, and several princely states during one of the most turbulent periods in South Asian history. Josy Joseph sheds light on lesser-known events, hidden political calculations, and the challenges faced by India's leaders as they navigated Partition, nation-building, and the integration of princely states.
The interview also explores the positions taken by rulers of Hyderabad, Junagadh, Bhopal, and other princely kingdoms, revealing how close the newly independent nation came to a very different future. Drawing from extensive research, archival material, and historical records, Birth Of A Nation offers a fresh perspective on the final weeks before Independence.
If you are interested in Indian history, the Partition, the freedom movement, political leadership, and untold stories from 1947, this discussion provides valuable insights into one of the most important turning points in modern history.
