2016: Suzanne (38), huisarts, wordt door haar tweelingzus Lotte, die al haar hele leven worstelt met mentale problemen, gevraagd te helpen haar leven te beëindigen. Suzanne wil haar zus niet kwijt maar ziet dat het lijden ondraaglijk voor haar is. Suzanne leert door het helpen van haar zus dat niet alles te redden is.
