Renault CEO François Provost says that a year from now he could propose cutting 300,000 European-built cars if the EU refuses flexibility on its 2030 CO2 targets. Meanwhile, 20 Chinese brands, twice the 2024 count, are at the Paris Motor Show, and they hold 10.7% of the European market. My view is that flexibility will come, and much of the time it buys will go to Chinese brands.
