Dit Was Het Nieuws bestaat dertig jaar met Harm Edens als vertrouwd gezicht. Sinds de start is hij presentator en schrijver bij het satireprogramma, waarin het nieuws van de afgelopen week wordt besproken. Eerder schreef Edens voor series als 'In de Vlaamsche Pot' en 'Het Zonnetje in Huis'. Daarnaast zet hij zich in voor klimaat en duurzaamheid. Edens staat in het theater met 'De toestand in de wereld volgens Harm Edens', waar hij spreekt over het klimaat en het radioprogramma BNR Duurzaam.
