日本における飲料の分類は、製品100gあたりに含まれるコーヒー生豆の量に基づいて厳格に規定されています。最も成分が濃いものは「コーヒー」と表記され、次に含有量が多いものは「コーヒー飲料」、さらに薄いものは「コーヒー入り清涼飲料」と区別されます。一方で、生豆の使用量に関わらず乳固形分が3.0%以上含まれる製品は、法的に「乳飲料」として扱われます。消費者はパッケージ裏面の名称欄を確認することで、その飲み物の濃度や成分バランスを容易に把握することが可能です。このように、公正取引委員会などのルールによって、消費者が商品の性質を正しく理解できる仕組みが整えられています。
